As an Independent Celebrant I would work with you to create, and then lead, a meaningful ceremony at a venue of your choosing. The ceremony might be a wedding or civil partnership, or the renewal of marriage vows (sometimes called a ‘blessing’). Or it might be a funeral, a memorial or another act of commemoration. Or it could be something like:
a Celtic hand-fasting
a baby naming
an adoption ceremony
an occasion to mark retirement
a special anniversary
a ceremony to mark the ending of a relationship.
The opportunities to create a milestone event in your life story are limited only by imagination! That said, if it is a wedding or civil partnership you are wanting to plan, it’s important to note that we are also limited by the laws of the land! You can read more about that here.
Whatever your need for a ceremony may be, we would have an initial chat by phone and if we agree to take things further, we would arrange to meet to explore together in more detail what it is you are looking for. Between us we will generate ideas for your vision to be turned into a unique event and meaningful experience.
It is my role to work in partnership with you to come up with the wording you want for your ceremony, and the form you want it to take. And if you don’t already have definite ideas of what you want to include, then I can make suggestions for what may be suitable ritual, readings, poems, songs or music to help you decide the content.
After a small legal ceremony to legitimise our wedding, Jo and I wanted a meaningful yet highly personal celebration of our union for our larger official wedding day that we shared with our extended families and friends. Graham listened to our wishes, made notes and suggestions. I was particularly impressed with the wonderful summary of our thoughts he made before he left our meeting. He contacted us by email letter that week with an attached running order of the ceremony. This was open to discussion and amendments but it only required one small tweak and we knew it was perfect. He was able to put us at ease, was patient, and helped us formulate our ideas. He was wonderful on the day and highly organized. We could not have asked for more support or joy of being on our special day.

We asked Graham to be the celebrant for our son George’s naming ceremony. He made the whole experience a very special occasion for which we are truly grateful. Even friends were coming up to us afterwards asking if they could make a booking too! The whole ceremony was enjoyable and ran smoothly, just as we hoped. Graham has such a calming and reassuring presence that quickly helped dissipate any of the nerves we had to begin with! I would not hesitate to recommend Graham and his services to anyone.
